Frequently Asked Questions
How many private sessions will my dog need?
It varies based on your dog’s current behavior, your training goals, and how consistently you practice between sessions. Some dogs show amazing progress quickly, while others need more time. Owner follow-through is the key factor in how fast results appear.
Do you guarantee results with private lessons?
We offer a 100% refund after the initial lesson if you’re not happy with the experience. However, private lessons cannot guarantee specific results because owner practice and follow-through are essential to success and outside our control.
What age can dogs start private training?
Dogs of all ages benefit from training. Puppies can begin building foundations early using reward-based methods like our Basic Marker Mastery™ program with clicker and treats. Dogs five months and older may be ready for e-collar training. Older dogs absolutely can learn new skills and break bad habits.
Can you help with aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes. Our 3-Week Reactive Dog Program addresses dogs with fear or overreaction to triggers. We also offer a 4-Week “Rap Sheet” Rehabilitation Program for more challenging cases. Important note: these programs do not guarantee a complete fix for entrenched behaviors, but many dogs show significant improvement.
Do you train at my house or your location?
Both options are available. In-home training sessions work within a 30-mile radius and are ideal for addressing household-specific issues. We also offer training at our facility depending on your needs and preference.
What equipment is needed for private training?
Basic equipment needs are covered during your consultation. Our Basic Marker Mastery™ program includes a clicker and tools. The ExpeditePro™ add-on includes an equipment bundle. Your trainer will guide you on anything else required.
How do private lessons compare to board and train programs?
Private lessons keep your dog at home while you learn alongside them. Board and train programs (like our 2-Week On-Leash, 3-Week Off-Leash, or reactive dog options) immerse your dog in training for 14 to 21 days, with free lifetime refreshers included. Board train works well for owners who want faster results with less daily time commitment. Private lessons are ideal when you want hands-on involvement in every step.
