Frequently Asked Questions
What age should my dog start training?
E-collar training typically starts at 5 months of age. Younger puppies can begin with clicker and treat foundations through our Basic Marker Mastery™ program, building essential skills before transitioning to more advanced methods.
Do you use e-collars and are they safe?
Yes, we use e-collars as a communication tool, similar to a tap on the shoulder to get your dog’s attention. The remote allows control up to 400 yards. We emphasize communication, not punishment. The e-collar is introduced only after proper foundational training.
What’s the difference between Board & Train and private lessons?
Board & Train programs provide immersive, intensive training where your dog stays with us for 14-21 days depending on the program. Private lessons keep your dog at home while you work directly with a trainer, requiring owner practice between sessions. Board & Train typically produces faster results and includes lifetime refresher sessions.
Do you guarantee results?
For private lessons, we offer a 100% refund after the initial lesson if you’re not happy. However, private lessons do not guarantee results since owner follow-through is outside our control. For Board & Train, by the end of your dog’s stay, they will be reliable and obedient in the commands advertised, plus you receive FREE refreshers for life.
How far do you travel for in-home sessions?
We offer in-home obedience training within a 30-mile radius from our trainer location in Murrieta, CA.
Can you help with aggressive dogs?
Yes. Our 3-Week Reactive Dog Program specifically addresses aggression and fear responses. For severe cases, our 4-Week “Rap Sheet” Rehabilitation Program provides intensive work, though we note it does not guarantee a complete fix for entrenched behaviors due to variables like genetics or history.
What happens if I’m not satisfied after the first lesson?
We offer a 100% refund after your initial private lesson if you’re not happy with the experience.
