Frequently Asked Questions
What age should my dog start obedience training?
E-collar training programs typically begin at five months old. Younger puppies can start with our Basic Marker Mastery™ approach using clicker training and treat-based rewards. This builds a solid foundation for more advanced training as your puppy matures.
How long do training results last?
Board and train graduates receive lifetime support. By the end of their program, your dog will be reliable and obedient in the commands taught. We provide FREE refresher training for life to help maintain those results as situations change.
Do you guarantee results for aggressive dogs?
We create significant improvement for reactive and aggressive dogs through our specialized programs. However, we’re honest that certain behavioral issues cannot be completely “fixed” due to variables including owner consistency and follow-through after training. We set realistic expectations during your consultation.
What’s included with board and train programs?
Programs include intensive daily training, an e-collar system with up to 400-yard range, comprehensive owner transfer sessions, and lifetime refresher training. The e-collar functions as a communication tool for attention and commands, not as punishment.
How does the money-back guarantee work?
For private lessons, we offer 100% refund after your initial lesson if you’re not satisfied. Results from lessons depend on owner follow-through between sessions, which is outside our control. Board and train programs guarantee your dog will be obedient in advertised commands by program completion.
Can you train my dog at my home?
Yes. In-home training sessions are available within a 30-mile commute from our location. This option works well for addressing household-specific behaviors and teaching obedience in your dog’s primary environment.
What training methods do you use?
Most programs use e-collar communication combined with positive reinforcement techniques. The e-collar provides clear, consistent communication at distances up to 400 yards. For puppies or owners preferring treat-based methods, Basic Marker Mastery™ offers a reward-focused alternative using clicker training.
