Frequently Asked Questions
When Can My Dog Start E-Collar Training?
E-collar training generally begins when a dog is at least five months old in applicable programs. Younger puppies may start with reward-based options such as Basic Marker Mastery™ or the four-week Positive Puppy Program. Contact the team to confirm which option is appropriate for your puppy.
What Results Can I Expect From Board & Train?
By the end of the stay, your dog will be reliable in the commands advertised for the selected program. The 2-Week On-Leash Program covers come, sit, down, place, heel, and off. The 3-Week Off-Leash Program builds on that foundation with off-leash reliability.
The 3-Week Reactive Dog Program provides on-leash training around specific triggers, while the 4-Week “Rap Sheet” Rehabilitation Program is designed for severe aggression or highly reactive behavior. Complete correction of serious behavior is not guaranteed. Board & Train graduates receive free lifetime refresher training.
How Does Training Work for Reactive Dogs?
The 3-Week Reactive Dog Program provides on-leash obedience training for dogs that overreact through fear or aggression toward triggers such as other dogs, people, or animals. Training takes place in controlled environments and focuses on the six core commands, impulse control, confidence, and calmer responses.
The 4-Week Rehabilitation Program is available for more severe aggression or highly reactive behavior. Results vary, and complete correction cannot be guaranteed.
Do You Offer Training in Fallbrook Homes?
In-home obedience training is available within approximately a 30-mile radius of the Murrieta trainer location. In-home sessions may address household behaviors such as door rushing, counter surfing, jumping on guests, and other concerns in the environment where they happen.
