Frequently Asked Questions
What commands will my dog learn?
Training programs teach 6 core commands: come, sit, down, place, heel, and off. Advanced programs build on this foundation for off-leash reliability.
How does e-collar training work?
The e-collar serves as a communication and attention tool, not punishment. The remote allows control up to 400 yards, making it effective for real-world distractions. E-collar training generally starts at 5 months; younger puppies begin with clicker and treat foundations.
What guarantees do you offer?
For private lessons, we offer a 100% refund after the initial lesson if you’re not happy. However, lessons do not guarantee results because owner follow-through is outside our control. For Board and Train, your dog will be reliable and obedient in the advertised commands by the end of the stay, plus free refreshers for life.
What age can puppies start training?
Puppies can begin foundation training with Basic Marker Mastery™ using clicker and treats. E-collar introduction typically starts at 5 months of age.
Do you offer in-home training?
Yes. In-home obedience sessions are available within a 30-mile commute from the trainer location.
Can you help with reactive or aggressive dogs?
The 3-Week Reactive Dog Program specifically addresses reactivity. The 4-Week “Rap Sheet” Rehabilitation Program handles more serious behavioral issues, though it does not guarantee a complete fix for certain entrenched behaviors.
How long does training take to show results?
Board and train programs run 14 to 21 days with visible progress throughout. Private lessons require consistent owner practice between sessions to achieve lasting results.
